Two graphic designers from Southern California among TOP 10 finalists
The Media Arts Center San Diego is thrilled to announce the top 10 finalists of its 8th annual 2017 San Diego Latino Film Festival (March 16-26) Poster Competition. The winning artwork will give life to and inspire the branding of the 24th edition of the film festival. The poster is set to be unveiled at an invitation-only event on December 8th, 2016 hosted and sponsored by Border X Brewery in Barrio Logan from 5:30-8:00PM.
The Top 10 finalists were chosen by a selection committee comprised of designers, artists and marketing professionals, who reviewed over 350 entries from local and international artists. Two graphic designers from Southern California are among the finalists. The winner will receive a $1,000 prize.
In addition to the winning poster, the San Diego Latino Film Festival will be announcing its 2017 Presenting Sponsor at the Poster Unveiling Party.
WHAT: Interview opportunities with local finalists, Presenting Sponsor, filmmakers and Ethan van Thillo, director and founder of the San Diego Latino Film Festival. There will also be an exhibit of the Top 10 posters, music by DJ Viejo Lowbo & Bill Caballero, beer tasters, appetizers, y más.

The 24th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival, produced by non-profit Media Arts Center San Diego, will take place from March 16-26, 2017. Every year the festival premieres over 170 films from Latin America, Spain, the US, Mexico, and other parts of the world in an effort to celebrate the diversity of Latino perspectives that exist on a global scale. This 11-day event also features art exhibitions, music, parties, workshops for filmmakers, and special guests from film and television.
