For centuries, the descendants of the Genghis Khan ruled Kazakhstan.
Kenesary was the last royal descendant of Genghis Khan
But when the Tsarist Russia started to harass Kazakhstan, they started to decimate Kazakh Khans to colonize the country. Kenesary Khan was beheaded during his last military campaign and his head was taken away to St Petersburg. During Stalin’s era, Kazakh historian Ermuhan Bekmahanov, tried to write about Kenesary Khan, but was tragically punished.
